- My name is Corina Timarr Holman. I have experience from halter training babies to breaking horses to ride for pleasure and training for the show ring for the last 15 years. I am a certified Professional Horsemen with The American Paint Horse Association. I am also an APHA Ambassador.
I have worked with the most average horse and brought it up to its fullest potential resulting in a well-mannered, respectful, responsive, capable and enjoyable partner. I believe that every discipline has something to teach us to be a better horseman- I will never stop learning and challenging myself.
I train and have experience in: Basic & Advanced Ground Work, Desensitizing, Western/English, Pleasure Riding, Ranch, Cow Horse, Mounted Patrol, Natural Horsemanship Training, and Training to gain respect & control on the ground and in the Saddle. I have competed and won in areas of Ranch, Working Cow, Halter, Showmanship, English & Western Pleasure/Equitation, Western Dressage, Team Roping, Barrels & Poles.
-I believe in starting out every horse, no matter the age or capabilities, learning the basic fundamentals of ground work. I train under natural horsemanship methods, very similar to those of Chris Cox and another very well know trainer from Australia. I work to "make the right things easy and the wrong things difficult" so that your horse learns to make the correct decisions and become a willing partner.
-A few specific areas I am regularly asked to work on: Leading, tying quietly, standing still to saddle and mount, stopping and backing softly and collected, transition from walk-trot-lope smoothly, neck reining, yielding to leg pressure, flexing, bending and collection. While in training your horse will gain exposure to obstacles like water, ditches, logs, tarps, tractors, 4-wheelers, traffic, etc.
I have lots of experience with problem horses ex: bad habits, fear and lack of confidence issues, and little to no ground manners. Trailer loading, grooming, bathing, clipping, trail riding experience, etc.
I can help you if you need a horse started, trail miles put on them, have hauling experience, or various issues worked on. I work with all breeds and genders- young to old. We have 40 yrs. of experience in loving and enjoying raising, breeding, training horses, and providing lessons for pleasure and show.
-For those of you who don't have time for your riding partner, I also have an exercise program available for already trained horse just needing to be exercised and to have riding time.
